Sang Av Innvandreren

Thomas Overbeck

I had always wanted to do a unique way of portraying dialogue spoken in a foreign language. And I came up with a good one when I started SouthCybers last year: put the flag of the corresponding nation in the background of the word balloon.

(As for the title of this comic, it's supposed to be "Immigrant Song" in Norwegian.)

Yet whenever I heard this song I always thought they were talking about Canada... Go figure, eh?

The flag is Finnish. (White background, blue cross). The Finns were not those who came to North America. Good idea though.

qka: Apparently you didn't see the faint red in there. My ancestry is part Norwegian, so I think I know my flags and history. :)
