I've never even heard Herman's Hermits' "I'm Henry VIII I Am" until recently. And it's not really about the notorious monarch, but it didn't take much lyric-tweaking to make it more about him.
TRANSCRIPTION COURTESY OF JOSEPH HOUK - [1544; England, where two singers are doing a "slightly altered" version of a rather famous song – as a certain monarch is listening on...] (Singer) "Iiii'm Henry the Eighth I am, Henry the Eighth I am I am, Iiii got married to the widow next door, She's been wed a couple times be-fore, and one of them was an 'En-uh-ry..." (Drummer) "`En-uh-ry!" (PW, looking on with Cassie) "Hmmm... That's not how I remember the lyrics!" (CW) "Well, it was either conform to historical accuracy or bid farewell to thy head!"
